30 Years of Ministry at New Covenant

As I reflect back on 30 years of service at New Covenant Church, I realize God has led me through some of the most rewarding, as well as, the most challenging times of my life. When Linda and I came to New Covenant as new worship leaders in September 1985, I remember the zeal, excitement, and devotion we had in worshiping a personal and loving God and in partici-pating in a ministry that helped spread the gospel of Christ through music. We still have the same zeal and excitement that we had then, and are so thankful to the Lord for His faithfulness to sustain not only Linda and me, but New Covenant Church from the storms of life that have ravaged so many ministries over the past three decades.

I have watched my two sons grow up to become effective servants in their respective areas of ministry, and I have had the privilege to work with my wife for these 30 years. This has been a constant reminder of how God, through His covenant relationship with us, has allowed me to work alongside a faithful companion and helpmate; that without her, I would have never made it this far.  At times the challenges seemed insurmountable, but God's dedication to His church and its success always came through just when we needed Him to do so. I have no regrets over yesterday or any fear of tomorrow. I have lived by that motto for many years now, and hope to continue to do so for as long as I have breath and life to live.

Thank you, New Covenant Church congregation, for being the most gracious and tolerant people, always encouraging your pastor who loves you and cares deeply for your spiritual souls. One day we will all rejoice in the better place that has been prepared for those who love God. My prayer is that you press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus.

For the Kingdom’s sake, Pastor Jim
