The Unveiled Face

It has been said that to know God is to have not only a knowledge of Him, but a relationship with Him that is both personal as well as affectionate. As we go into the world to fulfill the Great Commission, it becomes apparent that there are many who have no relationship with God or worse, no desire to know God.

The apostle Paul encourages us to look deeply into the mirror to see beyond what is there in the natural, and see the spiritual person. To search for the unveiled face because of a spiritual transformation of one's soul is to take seriously our belief in God. The tragedy is that many consider this to be unimportant and not relevant in today's world. To say that God and His Church is not for everyone is to imply this irrelevance, but it also implies exactly the point that a spiritual transformation has not occurred in such a thinker. God and His Church are for everyone; however, not everyone is for God and His Church. Though this may sound like semantics, it puts the focus on the fact that though many are hurting and angry because of the fallen world in which we live, God and His Church are always ready to receive believers into the fold.

Has a true spiritual transformation occurred in your life? To see God with an unveiled face is to see God relevant in the forefront of our minds every moment of every day.   "And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the spirit"   (2 Cor. 3:18).
