For Such a Time as This

The biblical reference to providence in the book of Esther is in the words, "Who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this." These are the words of Mordecai to Esther who, against all odds, became queen of Persia, and in doing so, was instrumental in the salvation of the Jewish nation from destruction. Mordecai's immortal words to his niece Esther challenge us to persevere through trial knowing that the God of Providence will orchestrate our future for His good. Even against all odds we persevere, knowing that the outcome of our situation will be directed through the hands of the God who is above. The thought that there is Someone above us who can hear us begs the question, "If Someone is up there, can He do anything to help us, and if He can, will He?"  We live in a world of unprecedented controversy of skepticism about whether there is a personal God in charge of the universe.

Do you battle with thoughts of skepticism as to the existence of God?  If you have settled that question, do you believe that God has governed all things, all creatures, and all their actions?  If we say He has, then against all odds, take courage and trust God for the outcome of every circumstance you face.
