In our series, “The King and You,” we are making preparation for the up-and-coming events from biblical times that celebrate the  Ascension of Christ as well as the day of Pentecost. Our series has taken us from the post-resurrection appearances of Christ to the understanding Jesus gave His disciples prior to His ascension as to how to walk in the Spirit. He told His disciples that He would send the Counselor, the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, that will walk alongside us as we journey through this life, carrying the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations.
To walk in the Spirit is not to be misunderstood as optional or a tentative suggestion for us to consider, but a command to all Christians. The words “be filled” are imperative, that is, a command from God as to how we should conduct ourselves as believers in Christ. In the following weeks we will peruse the subject together as we prepare ourselves for these exciting days ahead.
Have you ever been confused or apprehensive about the "Baptism of the Holy Spirit?"  Are the gifts of the Holy Spirit necessary and useful for today? These questions and others that you might have, related to Paul's command to us to, "be filled with the Holy Spirit”, will be examined and encouraged for the body of believers here at New Covenant Church. Take time to be in prayer that God might open your hearts and minds to receive the fullness of the Spirit. “He saved us by the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5).
