Lonliness and Community

Today, we live in a society ever changing and is constantly on the move. Our lives are faster paced, and more individualized than ever before. It shouldn't surprise us then that study after study shows that men and women are becoming increasingly more lonely, and separated from others. Christians are no different. Whether you are single or married, young or old, we all face seasons of life that challenge us.

The Scriptures present to us an answer that may be different than we expect. King David, in Psalm 142, finds himself utterly alone. In the end, what he is encouraged by, is the hope of being around the people of God once again. The remedy for loneliness is found in the "keeping presence of God," shown through the Church.
